Orlando HamCation®

The RCA will be exhibiting at one of the southeast’s largest gathering of Amateur Radio operators, the Orlando HamCation®, which occurs on February 10, 11 and 12  at the Central Florida Fairgrounds in Orlando.  The HamCation® bills itself as “The premiere Amateur Radio event in the Southeast” and boasts attendance in the range of 15,000.  Many attendees come from northern climes just to get out of the snow and ice and jump-start their hamfest activities for the new year.  Commercial vendors are spread out over 3 large buildings and individ

Bill Endres Recuperating

Bill Endres, a long time RCA Member and Board Member and Member of the Executive Committee,  had a bad fall as he was leaving his office last week.  He tripped on a carpet and went head-first into the wall breaking bones in his spine.  He is in a neck and back brace and most uncomfortable.  Bill was transferred from the hospital to a rehabilitation center yesterday.  This will be a long recovery.  He can't talk too well due to the neck brace but he does converse.

Silent Key, Joe Nasser

It is great sadness that I report to you that Joseph Y. Nasser, Ph.D passed away on December 27, 2011 after a brief illness. He was hospitalized on Christmas Eve with what his family thought was pheumonia. He apparently took a turn for the worse Monday and passed away on Tuesday.

Armstrong book plus a number of new articles, a historical overview, congratulatory letters, the President’s Message, and so much more.
