RCA'S SUSTAINING CORPORATE SPONSORS

Awards Banquet and Technical Symposium

The RCA Awards Banquet will return to Pittsburgh in 2020. Join us on Friday, November 20 at the Omni William Penn for the Technical Symposium, and the DuQuesne Club for the Awards Banquet. Help us celebrate KDKA’s 100th anniversary.

Registration opening soon!

The RCA Technical Symposium will focus on the current hot issues in broadcasting including DTV (digital TV), DTV channel repacking, interesting facets of KDKA’s various AM broadcast towers and presentations from broadcast equipment manufacturers on their latest innovations.

Our Awards Banquet Keynote Speaker this year will be Dr. Nathaniel Frissell, Assistant Professor in the Physics and Electrical Engineering Department of the University of Scranton PA.  Dr. Frissell’s keynote topic will be announced in future.

If you missed the 2017 tour of the KDKA facilities, we have one planned for Saturday, November 21.   We are working with a number of other organizations to make this a “don’t miss” event.

We have a great rate of $159 at the Omni William Penn, so plan to come in early and stay late to enjoy all the Pittsburgh attractions. The room block will be opening soon.

The History behind KDKA

On Nov. 2, 1920 Pittsburgh radio station KDKA broadcast the presidential election results of the Harding-Cox election, making this the first commercial broadcast.
