RCA'S SUSTAINING CORPORATE SPONSORS
Miss Lilian Todd – first president of what became RCA – Who Knew??
Miss E. Lilian Todd was an early pioneer in the field of aviation. In 1910, despite numerous setbacks because of her gender, she designed, built, and flew her own airplane at a contest held on Long Island N.Y. This was the first aircraft designed and built by a woman.

What does this have to do with RCA? Miss Todd was also the person who led a bunch of young boys to experiment with model airplanes, and shortly after to form in January 1909 the Junior Wireless Club. Miss Todd was the first honorary president of the Junior Wireless Club, which later became RCA. (see the history HERE).
