The Radio Club of America Goes Virtual for the 2020 Technical Symposium and 111th Awards Banquet!
RCA is hosting the first ever Virtual Technical Symposium and Awards Program on Saturday November 21, 2020. The date has shifted one day to allow more people to participate in both events. Both virtual only events will be offered at no charge and will even feature prizes for attendees.
Our 2020 Virtual Technical Symposium offers ten presentations on wireless and broadcast topics including the history of KDKA and youth presenters on Citizen Science. Just like a live event, participants can interact with the presenters and event sponsors throughout the day. Hosted by RCA President Emeritus Tim Duffy, the 2020 Awards program will showcase awards honorees and the 2020 Fellows.
Attendees who attend both the Technical Symposium and Awards Program will automatically be entered for prizes ranging from RCA Store gift certificates to the IC-705 and the ICOM R30 from Icom America, with winners announced at the end of the evening.
The Virtual Technical Symposium start at 9 a.m. ET and ends at 5:45 p.m. ET. The Virtual Awards Program starts at 6 p.m. ET and ends at 7 p.m. ET.

Celebrate 100 Years of Broadcast in the U.S.
The History:
The first commercial broadcast in the U.S. took place on Nov. 2, 1920. Pittsburgh radio station KDKA broadcast the presidential election results of the Harding-Cox election , making this the first commercial broadcast.

NEW! RCA Members Networking Event
Taking place every other month, beginning in November, on the second Tuesday at 9 PM ET/EDT RCA President Emeritus Tim Duffy will conduct a virtual networking event for RCA members. With the pandemic making it harder for our members to network, RCA is going to provide this venue for members to get together virtually from the convenience of their home or office!
This first networking event will be co-hosted by RCA President Emeritus Tim Duffy and RCA member Greg Glenn, CTO at Pulse Signal Solutions.
